The division that carries the mission outward

Outreach represents DRACO beyond the rocket — promoting STEM education, connecting with the community, and inspiring students across Puerto Rico. The division builds the next generation of STEM professionals and represents Puerto Rico's aerospace future.

Hardware in the room changes the conversation

A slide deck explains what a rocketry team does. An airframe on the desk in front of a student is what makes it feel reachable.

Members walk students through how the team is actually organized — every division, from structures and recovery to payload and business — and bring real components for them to see up close.

The goal is not to recruit a fourteen-year-old. It is to make aerospace engineering look like something students in Puerto Rico do, so that when the decision comes years later, it already feels possible.

Two very different rooms

The same hardware, presented to a professional aerospace audience and to the general public, requires two different conversations.

Caribbean Space Summit · industry audience

At a professional summit the audience already knows what a rocket is. Here the conversation is about design decisions, flight results, and what a student team in Puerto Rico is capable of building.

NotiCentro · press & public

Media coverage reaches the people who will never attend a launch or a summit — families, future students, and the island at large. It is how the team's work becomes part of a wider story about Puerto Rico.

Where the next members come from

Campus events are the front door. Prospective members meet the team, handle the hardware, and find out that no experience is required — commitment matters most.

What Outreach owns

01

STEM outreach & educational programming

Building sessions that turn a rocket into something a student can actually picture themselves working on.

02

School visits & community events

Taking real hardware into classrooms and public spaces across the island.

03

Public engagement & recruitment support

Representing the team wherever prospective members and the wider community encounter DRACO.

04

Representing Puerto Rico's aerospace talent

Showing that a competitive high-power rocketry program is being built here, by students from here.

05

Building relationships across the STEM community

Keeping DRACO connected to the schools, organizations, and professionals who share the mission.

/ Why It Matters

Outreach extends DRACO's mission beyond the launch rail — inspiring students who may one day join the team, or the aerospace industry itself.
